This seminar will review the practice of using crystalloids as the initial resuscitation fluid for trauma patients, and will then describe the results of some of the recent trials on blood use in the prehospital phase of trauma resuscitation.
Speaker: Mark Yazer, Professor of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh; Visiting Professor in Pathology, Tel Aviv University; Adjunct Professor of Clinical Immunology, University of Southern Denmark and Associate Director of the Centralized Transfusion Service.
